Hiring the Best Home Stager

Home Staging has become almost a trendy business, and by that I mean I meet so many people that learn about what I do and 80% of the time I get “oh that sounds fun, I would LOVE to be a home stager.”

For me it is absolutely fun, I love what I do, but it’s also a lot of hard work. As a certified interior decorator since 2006, I have training and experience behind me that has come with a lot of blood, sweat and tears. It’s not always about fluffing the odd room, you need to know how to highlight features of the home, specify a paint colour, recommend new lighting and updates that work with the style of each home. There is no cookie cutter solution, every home is unique, every home has it’s challenges, but there is always a solution.

I’ve been a member of the Real Estate Staging Association and I love this article that they sent out in their monthly newsletter today, it’s to the point and offers guidance on what to look for in a stager. It’s sometimes a big investment in staging your home and it’s one that you want to get that return on when your home sells. Choose wisely dear homeowners.
